City of Silence
A cataclysmic event around 10,000 years ago, signaling the end of the Collapse. The oceans boiled, earthquakes ripped the earth apart and horrible storms cleansed Meldor of almost all life. For 1,000 years life teetered on the brink of extinction, food was scarce, the people turning to a nomadic lifestyle to survive, roaming the planet, no one place able to sustain life for too long. But life took hold again, in discovered oases or strongholds. One such stronghold was the palace of Chittorgarh, which stood through the Collapse and the Rending. Like the Collapse, the cause of the Rending is widely debated by both the religious and the truth-seekers. Some claim that it was delivered to the mortals as punishment for some slight or disrespect and warn against future calamities. Others claim it was the result of powerful, and dangerous, magical experiments. Many scars dot the land, one of which is said to be the river Flussia itself, a large scar in the land that extends from the eastern Runetooth Mountains to the Bay of Blades.
